Visual novel - a novice guide to the genre of games

The vast majority of VNs usually have schools and worship and romantic themes. In these VNs, you play the role of a male character with a romantic prospect of one or more women. "Otto Game" reverses this role - a female character with a romantic prospect of one or more men. However, there are several VNs where romance is not the main focus. An example is the Phoenix Wright series. VN genres include various themes such as Mecha, Yaoi, Lily (Relationship between Gay and Lesbian respectively), Magical Girl, Medieval Theme, but they are not limited to them.

Many VNs include lovers and adult scenes. The VN containing them is not necessarily a bad thing. With a romantic theme story, you can strengthen the relationship between the two characters. However, with the "excuse plot" to justify it, there is a VN that focuses mainly on hentai. On the other hand, there are VNs without such content.
